About
Overview
This site was created primarily to experiment with various web technologies including blogs. However, experimentation with most web technology, especially blogs, requires visitors. Visitors need content. So, on this site I will post various interesting thoughts, analyses, and what I learn from these experiments. As an added benefit, since I tend to be over-analytical about almost everything, posting the analyses on this site will let others benefit from my “labor”.
What’s with the iMorphous Name?
Apparently, every good .com domain name is taken. Since this site doesn’t have any particular focus, I wanted to have a somewhat clever, but representative name. So domains like random, shapeless, amorphous, and such would make sense. But they were all taken. So what about cool names based on scientific terms. For example, in physics, impluse is change in momentum, but too bad, its taken. Even the domains tuneafish and studlycaps were taken (see the Jargon File for the meaning of these names. Both taken. So I was left with tune2fish (tune2fs for the Linux ext2fs filesystem), turborant (since I was annoyed at my inability to choose a domain), and iMoprhous as a play on the whole silly Apple iOwnEverythingThatStartsWithi naming along with the original idea of a shapeless domain name for a shapeless web site. iMorphous won.
